Winds of Change

4 min read
Good Afternoon,

It has been quite some time since I had a chance to write a journal here. A combination of work, family, classes and bouts of creativity have kept me very busy. Work and classes have been taking up most of my time lately so alas my creativity has been slacking a bit. I did take a three week course at WWTC for Portrait Photography and I learned a lot, not to mention it was taught by one of my favorite local photographers. The work she does is amazing and has truly been inspirational. She was very helpful with a number of different things and I hope some day I can be half as successful as her.

Well on to other things, I haven't had much chance to write these days but I hope to pick that up soon, sporadic as it is. Sometimes it seems as though I have to drag my muse out kicking and screaming, then bribing her with chocolate. Other times, she can't wait to show me what she has, even going so far as buzzing around in my head until I can put other things aside and focus. Most of the time I like the buzzing depending on how busy I am and writing seems to soothe me no matter how stressed I am or what I am writing whether it be a message to someone or ideas for my seemingly never ending stories.

On a personal front, I had hopes of getting a place closer to work with winter not that far away, a Jeep with over 300,000 miles and the fact that I really don't like having to drive a half hour each way. The apartment I was looking at was over a dance studio and I loved it the moment I saw it despite the creaky stairs. What I didn't love was the price as the security deposit was more than the rent itself and as I only work part time, my budget is rather limited. I was to hear back from the person by the end of this week but it would seem I didn't get the place after all.

There's a chance I might have to transfer to a different town depending on what is available. It's not that I don't like the thought of trying something different, it's that I've only been at the current job for six months and I wanted to try to make a go of it for atleast a year. My family, while well meaning, can at times be very pushy, particularly a couple of them. One of them is insisting I give the new area a try and though I've been digging in my heels, it would seem that their view is winning. There's a few steps I have to do to transfer including seeing if there's positions available for me at the other store and then the waiting game. Part of me wants to know if it will work out and whether I'll enjoy it. The other part of me doesn't want to move and and continue trying to get a place of my own nearer to my current job. The ironic thing is that if I had a chance to move to certain countries with the security of a place to stay and a job, I'd jump at it.

Well I had better stop with my ramblings as I need to do a few things before work, especially some homework and it is due on Tuesday. Wish me luck

Good morning!

I just love this time of year! The Autumn colors are in full bloom, it's the perfect time of year to drink apple cider or hot chocolate, bundle up in warm clothing and play in the leaves. There's also the yearly hayrides, watching the little kids trick or treat and the fact that it's mostly bug free! I have been very busy as of late which can be good and bad. I am just starting to get over a cold which has been going on for about a week and a half. Recently I have been busy with having the creative bug so to speak. A friend of mine introduced me to Photoscape and I have been hooked since. I've become inspired to become a better artist and photographer. I have been reading various photographer blogs and one I came across suggested classes and reading Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. By the way, Dani Stephenson danistephensonphotography.blog… is amazing with her pictures! She is the one whose blog I came across. Looking at her pictures is such an inspiration to me and if I could be half as good as her I would be so happy. Be sure to check out her blog! Also, check out Krystal's page while you're at it krystalmuellenberg.squarespace… as well as Kate www.katecraftonblog.com/ , and Jessica jessicasandsphotography.blogsp… . These women really work hard at what they do and it shows. You should be able to find them all on facebook if that's your preference. Also I came across two other photography pages. One of them is a lovely couple called The Saylors and his wife used to be my high school Spanish teacher gallery.me.com/gilsaylor and another fascinating photographer is www.gregorybyerline.com/#home/ . It would be wonderful to study under any and all these amazing photographers. I am hoping that eventually I will get the wonderful honor of studying under someone and in turn it would hopefully help me to improve not only the way I see things but how better to understand cameras. I would LOVE to have a Nikon that is 10+ mega pixels but that shall have to wait a while.

I have recently started blogging the various pictures that I have been playing with. I started the blog about four years ago but forgot about it in the craziness of life. I came across it again some months back when looking over various blogs. Feel free to take a look at and comment. missmegsramblings.blogspot.com… . I was up until the early hours of this morning continuing to work on pictures so I hope to have quite a few more to blog about today. I am trying to squeeze most of them into one blog so as not to over blog (if there is such a thing) and it's a lot easier to look at over one blog than many. I touched up a friend's picture so if he doesn't mind, I'll be posting that as well.

I have many, many projects in mind as well as seeing if maybe I can make a dent on my writing oh and homework as that is due Tuesday. I have a bad habit of waiting until the last couple of days to get things done with my online courses.

Well wish me luck and I shall try to keep up on my various updates but I can't say when I may next update.

Spring 2010

5 min read

Good morning!!

Hello my dear Deviant art friends and *coughs* stalkers j/k. I had a journal all typed out and was ready to send, then I made the mistake of clicking on my name and now I've had to start all over and I don't remember all that I was babbling on about *facepalms* but I will try to put in most of what I said in here.

I have been very busy with life in general and haven't had a lot of time to hop on to check out deviantART as of late so I am sorry for the delay in posting pictures and whatever else seems to come to me. I will try to make more of an effort though it may be sporadic. What have I been busy with you ask? Family stuff, getting ready to take online classes for my Bachelor of Science degree in Communications which starts April 21st, taking pictures, reading books and a bit of traveling from January to early March.

I am hoping that somehow during trying to get my degree I can try to study abroad in Ireland for a bit. I want to see if Celtic Studies is really what I want to focus on and in what area as it is a pretty broad subject and with luck I can learn some Irish while I'm at it.

Spring is here!! Ok so according to the Calendar it has been here for a couple of weeks or so now but with the trees budding and flowers coming up as well as the temperature, it really feels like Spring. Though for the last couple of days it's been rainy, windy and cold. That's ok because it helps Spring to come here even faster. It's one of my favorite times of the year as everything seems so..fresh..and new. It's so much fun to go out dancing in the rain and to see what new treasures nature has in store. I'm so excited to start taking pictures of Spring.

After three years of being on here, yesterday I took the plunge and updated my account to Premium. It will be for a year and $30 really isn't that much to pay. I'm loving the things that I'm allowed to do on here and am trying to figure out the other features. I want to try to get a Celtic skin for my Journal though I haven't been able to find one. If anyone has any ideas on how to get one or can point me in the right direction, I would REALLY appreciate it.

I just finished reading Safe Harbor by Christine Feehan. I am really enjoying reading the Drake Sister Series and sadly there's only two books left unless Christine furthers the series. I am curious to read her other series as well. My next book that I'm working on reading is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I've been trying to read it for the last few years or so. I have a lot of other books to read as well that I've requested. The last two Drake Sisters series books should be coming in soon.

Well I am off to find some food, read my book and get something to eat. Later I will be off to visit my cousin to show her the pictures I took of her wedding and see which ones she wants me to print out. I wasn't the official photographer but I still feel special that she likes them.

Have a blessed and Happy Easter

I have recently learned about the Department of Celtic Languages which has caught my interest. I have long been a fan of the Celts and well Ireland in general. I would love to turn it into something that I could study at home but also have the chance to study abroad. I would very much appreciate any input on possible places I could study. I am on a low income at the moment so I would appreciate a place that isn't too pricey to study at but also offers some of the best courses. To be able to do this would be literally a dream come true and with luck, perhaps I can see Ireland before 2011 and maybe one day even get the wonderful opportunity to study in Ireland I would also gladly welcome those that speak Gaelic and a bit about the Celts to lend me their view points. What better way to learn a language and culture but from those that have known it most of there life? Any and all input is welcome

Beir bua agus beannacht ((best wishes))

Ever have a dream that's left you thinking about it the whole day, trying to work it out..etc? Well such is the case as this one...

Yesterday morning I had the strangest dream...  in the dream i was getting married but the groom didnt know about it lol... atleast i'm assuming he didnt as he didnt show up... it was supposed to take place at my grandma's who is my stepdad's mom. I was in my white dress, my relatives were bickering for some reason lol.. i dont know why... and i was waiting for my dad to show up as well, my SL friend Lion showed up and i was really happy to see him and i hugged him lol, he's the one who performed mine and jax's ceremony
I wanted to take a picture of some apple blossoms i spotted outside so i borrowed someone's camera. There used to be this garage next to my grandma's trailer and in the dream it was there. There were two completely different sides to it. One side was dark, and the woods looked dead... while the other side, there was the cherry blossoms, and it was just so beautiful...
well it suddenly started raining as I started to take a pic of the beautiful side and a wind picked up so it was hard for me. I was trying to snap pics but the button was hard to push despite it being a digital camera. So by the time i got a pic, most of the cherry blossoms had been blown off the branches. I did manage to grab a pic of one and i remember thinking how sad it was that i hadn't beeen quick enough to take a picture
There was another part to it where the garage suddenly openened up and there was a mother cat nursing her babies, i went past her, up the ramp and was heading out to the observation deck that was there but woke up before i could get there it's interesting and yet um...strange lol....  i LOVE cherry blossoms and used to talk to my Scots friend who used to be my boyfriend about them all the time about how i'd love one in a backyard someday. He was in the dream too, strangely enough lmao though not sure was part he was supposed to be playing the blossoms were a light pink at first and then they were changed to white after the storm had hit. It was a fairly peaceful dream despite my not being able to find my missing groom lol and well it's been on my mind all day. I recorded it earlier so that I wouldn't forget when it came time to wanting to put it here in my journal.

Yesterday was supposed to be my day to chill, take a day away from the computer and just enjoy reading a good book or two, watching Sabrina and Charmed (yes, reruns) and going outside to enjoy the beautiful weather when it suited me. Well I was enjoying all of that until early evening and then my calmness sort of became messed up..sighs... I suppose glancing outside, looking at the sky and watching a cloud cover the sky should have been an indication laughs... talk about ironic, but I try hard not to think too much about signs everywhere I turn or I'd probably drive myself crazy...crazier than I usually am that is... lol... j/k.

Well on a lighter note.. I've been reading these stories that my Scots friend sent to me..talk about a riot... and well frankly they are all quite weird but a good weird..sort of lol... makes you wonder exactly how the heck all this stuff came up to be in stories. it's great for a laugh though... and you find yourself just enjoying reading the story and laughing even more as you try to imagine all that's told in the story. Am still reading it and hope that there will be more stories where they came from.

It's raining outside last night , a light rain that sounded almost like sleet but didnt feel like it when i stuck my hand outside. I love it when it rains at night and i love waking up to it..well..when i'm in my own room and it's the only sound that i can hear... it's a great way to wake up and well... waking up with someone beside you of course and um..well... just going to leave that thought where it is because that's prob for the best lol. Am contemplating whether I want to get a MD or stick to water... but since i'm the frozen watter bottle isnt quite ready yet, will prob go for the MD. BTW Butter Pecan ice cream is soo good. I had some earlier... ate it quite fast actually and my tongue felt a bit um...frozen afterwards. I couldn't seem to stop eating it. Actually wanted Ben and Jerry's but well decided to resist buying it as it's more expensive and stuck to the Butter Pecan for the time being.

Ok now i'm off to um..do something I suppose. Have to get ready for my cousin to come over. We're supposed to go out tomorrow night..sighs... feels like a disaster waiting to happen but will have to see. Wish me luck
